In
July Garrin Davidson of Broadfield East Junior School entered a talent
show at the school, where over 100 pupils entered their talents. Among
the talents there were singers, comedy acts, dancers and then there was
Garrin. Garrin attends C.B.B.A and performed a Bow Kata to music. Out
of these 100 or so pupils they were whittled down to just12. Garrin was
one of the 12 pupils to go up for the title "Broadfield East Has
Got Talent" These 12 pupils were judged by the rest of the schools
pupils. Garrin was so impressive and won hands down.
Garrin then performed his Kata at the fun day in front of the staff, pupils
and the public who had come to enjoy the day. He got a standing ovation
for his performance.
Garrin has been attending C.B.B.A for nearly 2 years and will be going
for his brown belt in September. He said.
"I would encourage any child to take up this activity because it's
fun. It is a discipline sport and shows you how to respect yourself and
others. Also it makes you more confident in life. I have also made a lot
of new friends since going to C.B.B.A I have gone to competitions with
the club, run by Sensei Wayne and Sensei Sue and won lots of trophies
which has also boosted my confidence. This sport is not bout fighting
it is about self defence, discipline, building self esteem and also your
confidence. It is a great place to spend your free time."
